Person-Centered Programming
SPARC provides integrated, community-based day programs that include meaningful learning experiences, social connection, and a rightful place in the community. Our programs are designed specifically for adults with severe and multiple disabilities who require specialized one-to-one support.
Each participant's experience is tailored to their individual goals, abilities, and interests. Our participant-integrated model allows individuals to bring their own Direct Support Professional, ensuring continuity of care and highly personalized service delivery.
What We Offer
Our diverse programming supports the whole person - social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
Community Integration
Meaningful participation in everyday community life through outings, local partnerships, and engagement with neighbors and businesses. Participants develop independence and build connections that foster true belonging.
Art Therapy
Led by our certified Art Therapist, these sessions use creative expression to support participants' identified social and emotional goals. Adapted directives ensure every participant can engage meaningfully with art-making.
Social Groups
Weekly social groups provide opportunities to build friendships, practice communication skills, and navigate social situations with peer support. Activities range from games and crafts to discussions and celebrations.
Life Skills Development
Practical skills training adapted to individual abilities, including cooking, personal care, money management, and daily living activities. Our goal is to maximize independence and self-determination for every participant.
Recreation & Leisure
Adapted recreational activities including sports, games, music, gardening, and special interest clubs. Our hydroponic gardening initiative and after-hours programs like bingo provide engaging leisure options.
Special Events
Monthly community events, holiday celebrations, and our signature Gratitude Gala bring together participants, families, staff, and community supporters for memorable experiences that celebrate our community.
Innovation: AIM AHEAD Project
SPARC is proud to partner with George Washington University on the AIM AHEAD research project, utilizing Artificial Intelligence programs to create art and music with adults with severe disabilities.
This groundbreaking research study explores how AI can foster and support self-expression for participants who may face significant barriers to traditional creative methods. The project demonstrates SPARC's commitment to innovation and expanding what's possible for adults with disabilities.
Agents of Change
Our Agents of Change program empowers participants to become advocates for themselves and their community. Through this initiative, individuals develop self-advocacy skills, learn about their rights, and participate in meaningful civic engagement.
Participants have opportunities to share their experiences, educate others about disability issues, and contribute to SPARC's mission of creating a more inclusive society.
How Our Model Works
SPARC's participant-integrated approach ensures personalized, cost-effective care
